“The strength of Containment in the Middle East  lies with Eilam’s ability to present multiple diverse issues and conflicting agendas  facing the Middle East. He presents the complexity of each while offering potential solutions...Containment in the Middle East  may be the most comprehensive study of the Middle East and attempts by the United States, Israel, and Arab Gulf nations to contain Iran. It is a must read for policy makers and those with an interest in the Middle  East. It would make a great addition to Thomas Friedman’s From Beirut to Jerusalem.”

- Lt. Col. Jesse McIntyre III, U.S. Army, Retired, Assistant
Professor at the U.S Army Command and General Staff College.

"Israeli Strategies in the Middle East: The Case of Iran is a must-read book about the conflict between Israel and Iran and its implications for the Middle East and the United States.  Author Ehud Eilam provides essential information and a highly valuable analysis of current security issues facing Israel from Iran and its proxies.”

-Major General Ran Goren (Retired Deputy Commander of the
Israeli Air Force )

‘This is an excellent book  (The Next War between Israel and Egypt: Examining a High-Intensity War
between Two of the Strongest Militaries in the Middle East)
whose title really doesn't do it justice.  What Dr. Eilam has done is give a sophisticated analysis of the options available to both Israel and Egypt should another war break out…While an Israeli, Dr. Eilam's approach is critical and unbiased.  This is the best conflict analysis book I've seen published since the 1980s when scholars such as Barry Posen, John Mearshimer and Joshua Epstein produced their brilliant analyses of how a NATO/Warsaw Pact conflict would look. I hope Mr. Eilam gives us a sequel.”

-Prof. Marc DeVore, the University of St Andrews.

"Eilam's work provides valuable context to the political and military issues that may shape Israel's future wars.  His analysis helps us understand the complexity of the conditions surrounding potential future confrontations in the Middle East. This well-informed study is a must read for those who wish to learn more about the challenges and risks facing Israel."

-David A. Deptula, Lt. Gen USAF (Ret.) Dean, the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies

"Israel, the Arabs, and Iran gives a detailed overview of the various national security challenges that Israel has faced since 2011.  It explains the key considerations and constraints Israel has had to deal with on several fronts, from its northern border with Lebanon to its southern border with Egypt.  The book provides the reader with a deep understanding of why and how Israel has struggled to keep the status quo, whilst a large part of the Middle East remains in turmoil." - Routledge

"Ehud Eilam's new book makes an important contribution to the literature on several dimensions of Israel's security policy.  It seeks to close the gap between the relatively limited literature on Israel's national security strategy (including, for example, Charles Freilich's 2018 work, Israeli National Security: A New Strategy for an Era of Change), and the vast bibliography that has emerged on tactical matters....Eilam's book is a welcome contribution to the growing literature on Israel's security policy.  Given his numerous suggestions, we can only hope that the book's readers will include IDF top brass."

-Prof. Eitan Barak, Hebrew University, Jerusalem
